Documentary photography- Documentary photography is very subject specific.  It relies on a deep investigation and the details behind the story and then the photo is taken to share the story with the world. It is usually poetic or delicate. You have already seen a photo that made you emotional and has a story behind it. That is called a documentary photo.

Sports photography- Those who expect to feel the excitement and pressure of the sports field take on this genre of photography. It is filled with adrenaline and focus. Photos are taken in a split second as there is something happening in the field every second.

The best way to learn photography is to go out and start clicking photos of things that you like. Experience is the best teacher. With experience you can learn new tricks that you can do with your photography. Do not be afraid or ashamed if the first photos come out bad. Eventually you will click better photos.
