It is every photographer's dream to get every lens there is and try the lenses for the perfect photo. But in reality that is impossible as any photographer would have to spend a huge sum of money just to buy that one lens for one perfect photo and then never use that lens again. So everyone should be very choosy while selecting a lens and I have a few tips for you that will help you in selecting the perfect lense for you.
  1. Know your photography style- When people are just starting as photographers they need to master everything. The early stages of photography are mostly exploration and finding new methods of photography. People explore different genres and try out different editing styles. Many photographers lean towards light and bright airy style. Which means photography in natural lighting. This genre needs fast and focuses lens and apertures of around f/1.2 through f/2. So if you can invest in Canon 50mm f/1.2 L and Canon 24 70mm f/2.8L if you are interested in this genre of photography. 4. Find the match between lens and photographer- The last thing you want is a closet full of gear that you never use. Rent or borrow a lens that interests you so you can test it out for yourself first before outlaying a big amount of money on something that may not suit your needs. Many lenses give the same effect so it would be unnecessary to buy unwanted equipment. Selling off your unwanted gear is always an option, but it’s better to get it right to start with.
Good gear is essential for a good photographer, but expensive gear does not make a good photographer.
