Which is the better adobe Photoshop? Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC?


It is always a popular question that I see pop up every once in a while is that- what is better Photoshop cc or Photoshop CS6? The correct answer is whichever the user prefers is the better one. Let me explain. Photoshop cc is the newer version of Photoshop with new features and a better user interface. But the users who are used to the Photoshop CC will take a significant time to adapt to the newer Photoshop and will most likely prefer the older one. But do not worry I am going to explain everything there is to explain about Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC today.

History of Photoshop CS6
Photoshop CS6 was launched in May 2012. Its full abbreviation is Photoshop creative suite. This CS6 version was a revolutionary change in the graphics industry. Because it had brought 61% more features than the previous version. It was faster better and could bring out the imaginations of Photoshop artists.

Adobe Photoshop CC was released in June 2015. Its full abbreviation is adobe Photoshop creative cloud. It has a monthly subscription-based system. Today Photoshop cc is one of the best and powerful image editing software. It works both in 2D and 3D image and video editing. Graphics designers today are very fond of this software.
With the updated and upgraded version, Photoshop CC is giving lots of new features that you can learn and use in improving your photos.

Focus mask- Focus masking is a new feature in Photoshop that lets you select fuzzy and hairy areas of your subject and change them as you like. It is a revolutionary feature that has made many image editing service providers use this feature for ecommerce websites and earn a living.
Additional motion blur- There are many effects in Photoshop CC but motion blur is a great feature to make you give the feel of movement in still images.
Smart guides- The new Photoshop CC has upgraded AI that actually indicates where the object is and how to place it by giving you a smart guideline.
Content awareness- Photoshop CC has better content awareness and is able to pick out everything that is in the photo.

Now that that’s done let’s do a head to head comparison between Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC-

·         Photoshop cs6 us the most fundamental image editing software used for simple and basic features. Photoshop CC is the more updated version of the Photoshop CS6
·         Photoshop CS6 had tools like crop, move, quick select, eraser, pencil etc. But Photoshop CC has these tools and more upgraded tools like camera shake reduction, intelligent upsampling.
·         Photoshop cs6 had one shadow style while Photoshop CC has over 10 different shadow style for a layer.
·         Photoshop CS6 had pen tool which was highly used to draw paths freehand and edit photos. Photoshop CC has the updated curved pen tool which is better.
·         Photoshop CS6 supported brush tool but Photoshop cc has over 1000 brushes.
·         Photoshop CS6 introduced the concept of smart objects and Photoshop cc further perfected this feature.
·         Subscription and payment-Photoshop cs6 is one-time purchase software. Photoshop cc is monthly subscription basis software.
·         User interface-The use interface of Photoshop CS6 is easy for the newbie user. It is easy and straightforward. This is the easiest version to work with. But Photoshop CC is a little harder because of all the added new tools. But once you get to know all the tools it becomes pretty easy.
·         System requirements- Here the winner is obviously Photoshop CS6 as CS6 is the older software it requires less to run. So it will run on almost any computer. Photoshop cs6 uses 1 GB ram and 64-bit supportive processor. A display of 1024x768 will be more than enough for this.
On the other hand Photoshop CC being the newer software needs more to run on a PC. It needs 8 GB ram for a smooth run. For 32bit installation you will need 2.6 GB of hard disk space and for the 64 bit it needs 3.1 GB. A 1280x800 display is necessary.

Adobe Sensei
·         Availability- Adobe has officially stopped releasing the CS6 version so this software will no longer be legally available. On the other hand the CC version can be found in Adobe website.

To summarize everything I would like to say even though adobe Photoshop CC seems like the better version and it is the better version, it takes imagination and skill to create something in Photoshop and that comes from the user and not the software. So if you think the older one is for you than use that version. But Photoshop CC is obviously the better software in my opinion.
